#12: New Year, New Name

Hey everyone, Carter here. It's hard to believe that I've been working on the game the past year, especially after COVID-19 interfered with everyone's plans, but I can assure you that I've been hard at work. It's crazy to think that I've been developing this game for over five years now, and I'm honestly pushing myself hard to get it done because I'm starting to lose motivation. Don't fear, though, there is no way I'm letting this one slip through my fingers after all of the time and resources I've put into it.

Last year, the primary focus was on dungeons and the game world. I am happy to say that every single town and dungeon is now complete, barring enemies and treasures (more on that later). In total, there will be eighteen dungeons to explore in the main game. I hope you find each of them to have their own unique flair! We've got water, ice, tree, mining, and more dungeons for you to experience. There are even some that are a bit hidden, so I'm looking forward to seeing who can get to them first!

This year, the focus is on two things: mountain ranges, and NPCs and their side quests. The mountain ranges are being worked on right now, and are getting closer to completion. As soon as that is finished, I can then go back and place enemies and treasures in all the dungeons and mountain ranges in one fell swoop. The NPCs side quests come after that, and those will most likely slip into 2022 where the beta of the game will be ready. After that it's all balance and polish until it is ready for everyone's PCs.

Also, I have decided to change the name of the game. Instead of the mouthful that was "Kami no Keibetsu: God's Disdain," the game will now simply be referred to as "God's Disdain." I hope you are satisfied with this decision.

Unless anything major happens, expect me to be working on this game even if I don't post here. Like I said, I am hell-bent on completing this project so I can finally see everyone play it and move on to different things. I have the entire bone structure for a horror game, and all it needs is to be implemented in the engine, so I'm trying to get through God's Disdain as efficiently as possible.

Thanks for reading, and I hope that God's Disdain will be in all of your hands next year!
